About Tanya
Tanya Johnson chose to build her life in Cass County because of its strong small-town values and close-knit communities. She graduated from Waverly High School and continued her education in finance and business. Tanya and her husband chose to raise their family in Greenwood, a place where neighbors know each other and look out for one another. With long-standing family ties in the Ashland and Greenwood areas, and the many friendships throughout the district, this community has always been home. Today, their two children are out in the world forging their own paths, but Greenwood remains at the heart of their family. These days, their home is shared with loyal Labradors who keep life interesting.
Tanya spent years giving back through service. This includes more than a decade as an EMT with the Greenwood Fire & Rescue Department, youth soccer and softball coach, as well as stepping in wherever an extra hand was needed. She currently serves as a Greenwood Village Board Trustee, where she works on local issues and represents the voices of residents.
Professionally, Tanya works in the cybersecurity industry and is also a small business owner of Custom Gun Solutions. Like many families in Cass County, she balances work, business, and community involvement every day.
Tanya is running for District 3 Cass County Commissioner to help protect the community's rural, small-town character while planning for responsible future growth. She believes in transparency, accountability, and most importantly, listening to residents to make thoughtful, informed decisions.
She is not a career politician, just a neighbor who believes in asking questions, working together to bring solutions, and keeping the community involved. Tanya is honored to have the endorsement of current District 3 County Commissioner Alex DeGarmo, who recognizes her commitment to serving the community.
When Tanya isn't working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time outdoors - gardening, woodworking, biking, and spending quality time with family and friends. One of her favorite things is simply connecting with people in the community and hearing what matters most to them.
Tanya welcomes the opportunity to talk with residents, hear their ideas, answer questions, and help find solutions. Because at the end of the day, this campaign is about making sure the people of Cass County are heard, respected, and always have a voice at the table.
